Cookie Policy

Last updated: 27 February 2026

1. Overview

This Cookie Policy explains how DJ Tunez uses client-side storage technologies on our website and applications. We have designed our platform to use minimal storage - only what is strictly necessary to provide the service. We do not use traditional tracking cookies or advertising cookies.

2. What Is Client-Side Storage?

Client-side storage refers to data saved directly in your browser or device rather than on our servers. The two types we use are:
  • localStorage - persists across sessions until manually cleared.
  • sessionStorage - exists only for the current browser tab session and is automatically cleared when you close the tab.
We do not use HTTP cookies (the kind traditionally tracked by cookie banners) for any functional, analytical, or marketing purpose.

3. What We Store and Why

localStorage items:
  • theme - Stores your display preference ("light" or "dark") so the site remembers your choice between visits. Contains no personal data.
  • Spotify API tokens - Short-lived access tokens used to power the music search feature. These expire automatically and are not linked to your identity.

sessionStorage items:
  • Pending song request - Temporarily holds the details of a song request (track title, artist, event ID) during the payment checkout flow. This data is automatically cleared once your payment is confirmed and the request is submitted. It never persists beyond your current browser session.

4. Third-Party Cookies

DJ Tunez does not use any third-party tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or analytics cookies. We do not embed third-party scripts that place cookies on your device (e.g. Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or similar tools).

Our payment flow redirects you to an external payment provider's secure page. That provider operates under its own privacy and cookie policies, which apply during the time you spend on their page.

5. Managing Your Storage

You can clear all locally stored data at any time through your browser settings:
  • Chrome / Edge: Settings → Privacy and Security → Clear browsing data → Cookies and other site data.
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data → Clear Data.
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data → Remove All.
Clearing storage will reset your theme preference and may interrupt an in-progress song request. It will not affect your payment history or DJ account data, which is stored on our secure servers.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of any changes.

7. Contact

If you have any questions about our use of storage, please contact us via the contact form on our About page.
